We capture special moments and save them as videos on our phones so we can watch them later and relive those memories. Almost everyone nowadays has tons of videos saved in their phone gallery, but only a few of them create backups regularly.

Having a backup or saving your videos in multiple locations ensures you will never lose them, even if they get deleted from your phone. Also, it is not easy to restore deleted video without recovery software. That’s why you should always have your precious moments backed up somewhere other than your phone. That being said let us now walk you through the steps of how to restore deleted videos.

Method 1: Restore From the Trash Bin

If you have recently deleted a video on your Android phone, like Samsung or Xiaomi, you can still recover it from the trash bin, which you can access directly in your phone’s gallery.

Here’s what you need to do:

  • Open your phone’s gallery.
  • Navigate to the Albums tab and scroll down to the bottom of the screen.
  • Tap open the Trash Bin folder and long-press the video you deleted accidentally.
  • Choose Restore, and the video will go back to its original folder.

Note: Videos in the trash bin stay for only 30 days, after which you cannot recover them from there anymore.

Method 2: Retrieve From A Cloud Backup

You can use this method only if you have saved your videos on cloud storage, but the good news is that if you have the synchronisation feature enabled on your Android phone, your videos get saved on Google Photos automatically.

  • Launch the Google Photos app.
  • Search for the video you deleted and tap it open to recover.
  • Go to the three vertical dots and choose Download.
  • This will save the video in your gallery once again.

Recovering deleted videos on an Android smartphone is a simple process if you follow the steps correctly and immediately. The longer you wait to recover your videos, the less the chance of you ever getting them back, and that’s why you need to be swift with your approach.
